Expression of Protein P27 in Ovarian Cancer and Its Clinical Significance

Objective To study on the expression of Protein p27 in tissues of ovarian epithelial cancer and its clinical significance.Methods Immunohistochemical(SP)technique was used to detect the expression of protein p27 of ovarian tissues in 82 patients with epithelial ovarian cancer,24 patients with ovarian benign tumor and 20 patients with normal ovary tissue.Results The positive rates of protein p27 expression(positive p27)in normal ovary tissues,tissues of ovarian benign tumor and epithelial ovarian cancer were 90.9%(20/22),66.7%(16/24)and 41.5%(34/82)respectively,with a significant difference among the three groups(P0.01).The positive p27 at Ⅰ and Ⅱ of ovarian cancer were significantly different from those at Ⅲ and Ⅳ(P0.05).The positive p27 in high-differentiated ovarian cancer was significantly different from those in middle-differentiated and low-differentiated ovarian cancer(P0.05).The positive p27 in ovarian cancer with no lymphnode metastasis was significantly different from those in ovarian cancer with lymphnode metastasis(P0.05).The median survival time of the patients with positive p27 was significant difference from that with negative positive p27(P0.05).Conclusion The lower expression of protein p27 may be associated with the development of ovarian epithelial cancer.
