Effects of El Nino-Southern Oscillation events on climate in Shaanxi province

Based on the meteorological data and historical data of more than 50 years in Shaanxi province,the influence of ENSO events on the climate from three different areas which are Shaannan,Guanzhong and Shaanbei region in Shaanxi province was studied.Through making statistical analysis of the relationship between precipitation,temperature,natural disaster events and the ENSO events,the correlation between ENSO events and the climate of Shaanxi province was revealed clearly.The results showed that the influence of ENSO events on the climate from Shaannan to Guanzhong to Shaanbei in Shaanxi province presented a rising trend;ENSO events happened in different regions had significant effects on the temperature and precipitation of Shaanxi;ENSO warming events(El Nino events) showed the warm climate and the reduced precipitation,ENSO cold events(La Nina events) showed the cool climate and the increased precipitation;ENSO warming events had more significant and stronger influences on the climate especially the natural disasters in Shaanxi than that of the ENSO cold events.
