Abstract
In view of the low color depth(K/S value)and poor color fastness of natural dye curcumin on cotton fabrics, the chitosan quaternary ammonium salts cationic modification agent was prepared from chitosan and(2,3-Epoxypropyl) trimethylammonium chloride and applied to the cotton fabrics. The dyeing processes of curcumin on modified cotton fabrics were optimized by single and orthogonal factors tests, with 1∶40 of dyeing liquor ratio,7.5%(owf) of usage of curcumin,50 ℃ for 30 min.The fastness to washing with soap and the colour fastness to rubbing of modified cotton fabrics were improved 0.5~1 grade than unmodified cotton fabrics and meet to the standard of Oeko-TexStandard 100.
