Abstract
In view of low color depth(K/S value) and poor color fastness of natural dye curcumin on cotton fabrics, cationic modification is carried out with chitosan quaternary ammonium salt, which is prepared from chitosan and(2,3-epoxypropyl) trimethylammonium chloride. The dyeing processes of curcumin on modified cotton fabrics are optimized by single and orthogonal tests, and the best conditions are defined as follows: dyeing liquor ratio 1 ∶ 40,7.5%(omf) curcumin,50 ℃ for 30 min.The color fastness to soaping and rubbing of the modified cotton fabric are 0.5~1 level higher than those of the unmodified fabric, the former can meet the standard of Oeko-Tex Standard 100.
