Abstract
The relationship between microstructure and mechanical properties of low carbon air cooled bainite steel 22Mn2SiVBS under different austenitizing temperatures was studied with observation of microstructure and test of mechanical properties. The results show that the steel after austenitization at 1 200 ℃ and then air cooling can have the microstructure consisting mostly of granular bainite. The values of αK,σb and σs can each 72.8 J/cm2,978 MPa and 870 MPa respectively. The Brinell hardness can reachs 285 HBW.The combination of excellent strength and toughness of the steel can meet the operating requirement for axle shaft bushing of automobiles.
