Abstract

Objective To explore the value of serum cystatin C,serum creatinine(Cr) and creatinine clearance rate(Ccr) in early diagnosis of diabetic nephropathy in type 2 diabetes. Methods Sixty-two type 2 diabetes patients from the Affiliated Hospital of Luzhou Medical College were divide into normal albumiuria group, microalbumiuria group and macroalbumiuria group according to urine albumen excretion rate(UAE).Serum cystatin C was determined by particle-enhanced immunoturbidimetry.Creatinine clearance rate(Ccr) was estimated by CockCroft-Cault formula. Results Cystatin C concentration and Ccr were different among the three groups(P0.05),but serum Cr was not different between normal albumiuria group and microalbumiuria group(P0.05).The diagnostic sensitivity of early diabetic nephropathy were 0.84 for cystatin C,0.73 for Ccr and 0.30 for Cr,respectively(P(0.01)).Conclusion Cystatin C is a more sensitive parameter than Scr and Ccr to diagnose early diabetic nephropathy.
