Abstract

Objective To investigate the MCV,MCH and serum ferritin in the diagnosis of thalassemia joint application. Methods In healthy control group of 60 patients with thalassemia heterozygous carriers 120 cases, the application Beckman. Coulter( Beckman-Coulter) LH750-type five categories of blood cell analyzer erythrocyte MCV,MCH. Serum ferritin by chemiluminescence. Results Thalassemia group and IDA group MCV,MCH were reduced, both with the healthy control group, the difference was statistically significant( P 0. 01) thalassemia group and IDA group., MCV thalassemia group was significantly lower than the IDA group, there was significant difference between the two( P 0. 01). IDA SF group decreased, while thalassemia group SF is not low,the difference between the two was statistically significant( P 0. 01). Conclusions( 1) MCV,MCH and serum ferritin screening of pregnant women as an effective indicator of thalassemia;( 2) do prenatal screening for thalassemia,to prevent and reduce heavy significance in children born with thalassemia.
