Abstract

The behavior model of asphalt pavements consists of two parts,i.e. pavement structural behavior, which means the deterioration laws of both pavement condition and pavement structural strength with the pavement age or accumulated load applications, and pavement function performance, which means the relationships among the pavement riding quality, pavement structural strength and accumulated load applications.Based on the surveyed pavement data, the strength deterioration model for asphalt pavement has been developed.By using the strength deterioration model in conjunction with the pavement performance models developed in advance, the behavior function for asphalt pavement has been induced, which reveals a interaction among the pavement parameters with the deteriorating of pavement, gives a clear relationship among the pavement performance, pavement strength, pavement structural components and environment factors, and provides a comprehensive basis for the pavement design, pavement evaluation and pavement management.
