The Cultural Countermeasures in Predicament——On Shen Congwen's Transition of Writing Angle in his Later Period Novels

After reaching his climax of creating,Shen Congwen's artistic passion came to the dilemma of hesitation and suspect,he felt that his standpoint of insisting that God is nature and that beauty lies in life itself were in contradictions with the liteary viewpoints of the new time,which made him feel puzzled in his writing and cultural choice.Shen made some change in his chosen traditional culture and novel world.These changes found expressions in his novels that he tried to combine other cultures with the traditional culture that he had worshipped,that he made attempts to present the force of reform through the characters and stories in his novel.His later period novels had transitted from a frank,pure,natural West Hunan world to his concern of the realistic world.
