Empirical analysis on food expenditure of rural residents in China-based on the ELES model

Improving of the food consumption quality is essential to promote the health of residents.At first,this paper described the food consumption status quoin of rural residents in China.Based on the 2003—2010 China statistical yearbook,using the ELES,and then analysed empirically the marginal propensity of consumption,income elasticity of demand and the basic demand of food of rural residents in China from 2002 to 2009 with SPSS13.0 Statistical software,and come to conclusions.Finally,on the basis of the existing conclusions,how to improve the rural residents food consumption expenditure in China was discussed.
