HPLC determination of gallic acid in cane sugar juice

Abstract

Aim To establish a method for the detection of gallic acid in cane sugar juice.Methods:HPLC was on a Symmetry C18 analytical colume(4.6 mm×250 mm,5 μm) with acetonitrile—0.5% phosphoric acid and flow rate was 1.0 mL/min.The UV detection wavelength was set at 280nm and column temperature was 25 ℃.Results:The linear range of gallic acid was 20~100 mg/L,the regression equation was Y=15960X-4749(r=0.9991) ,with a detection limit of 0.22 mg/L The recover of measure in analyzing of gallic was 101.45%(RSD=1.13%) .The clarified sugar juice and syrup were prepared into the concentration of 15 °Bx,and then filtrated by 0.45 micro-filtration membrane,the content of gallic acid were 21.70 mg/L,17.06 mg/L respectively.Conclusions:The HPLC method was accurate and reliable in analyzing the gallic acid of cane sugar juice.
