EXPRESSION、INVASIVENESS AND TUMORIGENIC OF CD44 AND CD24 IN THE PATIENTS WITH COLORECTAL CARCINOMA AND ADENOMA

Objective: To explore the expression、invasiveness and tumorigenic of CD44 and CD24 in the patients with colorectal carcinoma and adenoma. Methods: 45 cases of colorectal cancer specimens and 45 cases of colorectal adenoma specimens of CD44 and CD24 expression were detected by immunohistochemical staining. The relationship between the clinical and pathological features of colorectal cancer was analyzed. Results: The CD44 positive rates in colorectal cancer and adenoma were respectively 42. 23% 、17. 78%. The CD24 positive rates were 28. 89% 、13. 34%. CD44 and CD24 expression rate were different significantly among two groups( P 0. 05). CD44 expression was correlated with tumor size and lymph node metastasis( P 0. 05). CD24 expression was correlated to differentiation( P 0. 05). The difference of survival rate between CD44+group and CD44-group was statistically significant( 11. 5 vs 15. 0,P 0. 05). The difference of survival rate between CD24+and CD24-group was also significant( 10. 5 vs 17. 5,P 0. 05). Conclusion: CD24 and CD44 expression may play important roles in colorectal adenoma- carcinoma cell transformation and invasiveness of colorectal cancer.
