Abstract

Working memory is one of the important fields in modern cognitive psychology. It is defined as the memory system that stores and processes a limited amount of information temporarily. Working memory plays a role in many complicated cognitive activities, such as comprehension. One of studies on the relation between working memory and comprehension is discussing comprehension in the three-element model of working memory(BaddeleyHitch, 1974), including visuospatial sketchpad, phonological loop and central executive. The result shows that phonological loop and central executive are essential in many situations.
