Abstract

Working memory consists of four components;Central Executive System,Visualspatial Sketchpad, Phonological loop and Episodic buffer, each of which has specific functions.Comprehension in interpretation is a nonlinear cognitive activity which contains both top-down and bottom-up processes.During these processes,long-term memory and working memory play significant roles. From a static perspective,long-term memory, storing all types of knowledge closely related to comprehension in interpretation, becomes the prerequisite and basis of comprehension and renders the execution of working memory possible. From a dynamic perspective, each of the four components of working memory plays a special and critical role in the process of interpretation comprehension.
