Abstract
This article discusses the character and the cognitive systems of grammatical metaphor theory in the view of cognition.The differences and relations between grammatical metaphor theory and metaphor of traditional rhetoric and the relations of inheritance and development between them are also discussed in this article.On this ground,a more advanced analysis on metaphor status of grammatical metaphor is made.
