Abstract

The photosynthetic characteristics of Hibanobambus tranguillans f.shiroshima wsa investigated using Li-6 400 portable photosynthesis measurement system. The daily change of photosynthetic rate presented a double-peak curve, which appeared at 11∶00 am and 5∶00 pm,with the peak values being 7.497 μmol/(m2.s)and 7.168 μmol/(m2.s),respectively.The photosynthetic rate was influenced by the light intensity, temperature, humidity and stomatal conductance. The net photosynthetic rate, the transpiration rate and the stomatal conductance were higher for the leaves which possess similar proportion of yellow and green colors than for those completely green ones. The thickness of the leaf, the photosynthetic rate, the stomatal conductance and the transpiration rate were dominantly higher for biennial leaves than for those of 4-year old.The specific leaf weight, the contents of chl a and chl b,and the total contents of chlorophyll did not show dominant variation between biennial and 4-year old leaves, while the ratio of chl a/chl b of biennial leaves was distinctively higher than that of 4-year old ones.
