Analysis and Reflection on the Development of Adult Education in Jiangsu

In the development process of adult education in Jiangsu, achievements coexist with problems and challenges. The main problems are manifested as follows: lack of uniform guide and supervision, weak and lax macro-management, loose micro-management, inexact positioning in higher education system, unreasonable structuring, low economic efficiency and decreased teaching quality, etc. This paper aims to study these problems and find solutions to the problems: establishing administrative institution for adult education; placing adult education in the overall system of continuing education in Jiangsu; setting up testing system, carrying out the principle of easy entry, strict graduation, correcting the thinking and sorting out the relationships, optimizing the structure, constructing development platform, improving the teaching features, reinforcing supervision, raising teaching quality and the economic efficiency, in order to realize healthy, harmonized and sustainable development of adult education.
