Abstract
History, as the mother of all social sciences, is the strengths of the traditional disciplinary system in China. For the rebirth of Chinese traditional history, new academic ideas and concepts are needed. Historical Anthropology has been trying to make its own new contributions to meet the very needs. It by no means negates the achievements and contributions of Chinese traditional history, but intends to help traditional history keep pace with times for a new life. Historical Anthropology, as its missions, is to improve the understanding and awareness of history so as to provide a better service to the contemporary society. For this purpose, ideas and methods should be borrowed from Cultural Anthropology so as to explore new research criteria. This is the transition process from Cultural Anthropology to Historical Anthropology.
