Abstract

This paper deals primarily with the rhetorical effects of imagic iconicity in advertising language.The investigation focuses on two levels: phonological iconicity and visual iconicity and their respective rhetorical effects.The study proves that imagic iconicity can be used in advertising language to achieve various stylistic effects which enriches the study of iconicity theory and provides enlightenments to writers and readers.
