Observation on effect of Xuebijing injection in adjunctive therapy of sepsis

【Objective】 To evaluate the clinical efficacy of Xuebijing injection in the adjunctive therapy of sepsis.【Methods】 64 patients with sepsis were randomly divided into two groups.32 patients in the control group were given conventiona1 therapy.32 patients in experimental group were given 50 mL Xuebijing injection through intravenous drip twice a day for 8 days.White blood cell count(WBC),neutrophil ratio(N%),body temperature(T),heart rate(HR) and respiration rate(RR) were observed,and the levels of serum procalcitonin(PCT),C-reactive protein(CRP),tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α) and interleukins-6(IL-6) were detected in two groups before and 8 days after treatment.The excellence rate and total effective rate were compared in the two groups.【Results】 Compared with pretherapeutic indicators,those in the two groups after treatment significantly decreased(P 0.01).WBC,N,T,HR,RR,PCT,CRP,TNF-α and IL-6 in the experimental group were significantly lower than those in the control group(P 0.05).The excellence rate and total effective rate in the experimental group were markedly higher than those in the control group(P 0.05).【Conclusion】 Xuebijing injection can relieve the clinical symptoms in the septic patients with the improved effect.
