Abstract
This paper,taking General Secretary Hu Jintao’s incisive speech “Eight Dos and Don’ts” as an essential turning point and on the basis of affirming that market economy has its intrinsic morality,emphatically analyses the limitation and imperfection of market economy,and moral principle and its negative impact on our social moral life.It also analyses the relationship between market economic moraliuy and socialist morality,which is mutually compatible,complementary and promotive.Furthermore,it authenticates the viewpoint that to develop the socialist market economy we should not only strengthen the (market) moral construction in a general sense,but also the socialist moral construction.
