Study on vertebral artery morphological changes caused vertigo and its classification

Objective: To study the vascular morphological changes of vertigo and it s classification caused by ischemia of vertebral artery. Methods: 86 patients with vertigo caused by ische mia of vertebral artery were performed c olor transcrani al Doppler(TCD)detection and abnormal bl ood flow rates of vertebral artery were found in 82.Based on the examination res ults of tri-dimension CT angiography(3D- C TA)of vertebral artery and vertebral art ery morphological changes,the relation ship between vertebral artery and its n earby tissues was studied. Results: The morphological changes of vertebral a rtery were polymorphic and vertebral art ery had closed relationship to its near by tis sues.Conclusion: According to the results of the study ,vertebral artery caused vertigo can be classified follow types:hyperplasia and compression type,irregular narrow type,b lock type,slender type, abnormal alignme nt type and fibrous band drag type.
