Abstract
Objective To describe a method for the treatment of kyphosis with USS and evaluate its clinical effect Methods 31 patients with kyphosis were treated with one-stage total vertebral wedge-shaped osteotomy and USS for internal fixation.The follow-up period was 1 year.The clinical effect with the spinal column Cobbs angle(before operating and after operating)and the osteotomy confluence rate were observed.Results The preoperative Cobbs angle in 31 cases was in an average of 73° and postoperatively the angle in average was 12°;the average percentage of correction was 83.56%,the average percentage of osteotomy confluence was 96.77%.Conclusion The USS is a reliable internal fixation instrumentation for the treatment of kyphosis,for increasing the osteotomy confluence rate and improving the rate of correction.
