Observation on clinical therapeutic effect of acupuncture combined with modern rehabilitation therapy for upper limb spasticity in the patient of poststroke

Objective To observe therapeutic effect of acupuncture combined with modern rehabilitation therapy for upper limb spasticity in the patient of poststroke.Methods Fifty-four cases were randomly divided into a treatment group and a control group,27 cases in each group.The treatment group were treated by acupuncture combined with modern rehabilitation therapy,the control group only received modern rehabilitation therapy.The course was 1 month.Modified Ashworth scale and improved upper limb Fugl-Meyer were used for assessment of the therapeutic effect.Results After treatmet,the spasm was significantly alleviated in different degree of the two groups,while the treatment group was better than the control group,and there was a statistically significant difference(P0.05).Conclusion Compared with the modern rehabilitation therapy,the acupuncture combined with modern rehabilitation therapy has a better therapy for upper limb spasticity in the patient of poststroke.
