Abstract
Aim To investigate the effect of L-carnitine on cardiac function in the patients with chronic heart failure(CHF).Methods Sixty cases of CHF were allocated into control group and L-carnitine group. There are thirty cases in each group. The control group patients were treated with standard therapy. The L-carnirine group patients were given L-carnitine 3 g·L-1 in addition to standard therapy.Result The cardiac function grades had no difference before treatment, but the cardiac function grades improved much significantly after treatment in L-carnitine group.Compared to control group,L-carnitine group is more effective(P0.01).Conclusion L-carnitine can improve cardiac function of the CHF.
