Anticancer Effect of Petroleum Ether Extract.from Leaves of Streblus asper Lour.and Its Components

[Objective] The aim was to investigate anticancer effect in vitro of petroleum ether extract from leaves of Streblus asper Lour.and Its Components.[Method]MTT method was adopted to detect petroleum ether extract and anticancer effect in vitro of each component was separated by silica gel column chromatography.[Result]The inhibitive percentage of 80 μg/ml petroleum ether extract on Hela,SGC-7901 and KB cells were 58.6%,53.5%and 75.5%after 48 hours respectively.After further separation and purification of petroleum ether extract,the inhibitive percentage of fraction FrⅡ(80 μg/ml) on Hela,SGC-7901 and Ca-cell cells were 69.7%,64.6% and 60.2%after 48 hours respectively.And the inhibitive percentage of fraction FrⅢ(80 μg/ml) on Hela,SGC-7901 and Ca-cell cells were 73.1%,66.1% and 52.8%after 48 hours respectively.[Conclusion] Petroleum ether extract from leaves of Streblus asper Lour.has certain anticancer effect.And inhibitory effect of the fraction FrⅡ and FrⅢ seperated from petroleum ether extract on tumor cell proliferation is also obvious.
