Abstract

WANG San-wu,TIAN Zai-fu,LING Yun (Steelmaking and Rolling Plant, Shaoguan Iron and Steel Co., Ltd., Guangdong 512123,China)Synopsis:The high efficiency billet caster with four strand spplied in Shaoguan Steel is imported from Techint,Italy. Its maximum and average casting speed is 3.6?m/min and 3.3?m/min,respectively. The caster was put into operation in Dec. 2000. Since then, the casting process was gradually improved and optimized,process and equipment faults were reduced.As a result, the quality of billet has reached to the standard.
