The Clinical Observation of Simple Hairs Auto-transplantation Combined with Minoxidil Application in Patients with Hair Loss

Abstract

Objective To explore a effective method for treatment of alopecia or low density of eyeblow. Methods The whole strip of scalp tissue was harvested from occipital area closed to the hairline and divided into follicular units, the skin of recipient site were drilled with number 16 hollow needle, then the made-up follicular units were implanted into these holes. Minoxidil was applied to recipient area 7 days after postoperative, continuously 3 to 6 months. Results Twenty-five patients (34 alopecia or low density of eyebrow) were treated and get satisfactory effect by this method. Conclusion The small unit of hair transplantation with use of the No.16 hollow needles to simply punch, for treatment of alopecia or low density of eyebrow, is easy and convenient, and suitable for different levels of hospitals; Assistant minoxidil application have made high hairs survival rate and natural hair growth.
