Abstract

Objective To explore the changes of glial fibrillary acidic protein(GFAP)on the hippocampus of the mouse exposed to infrasound of different sound pressure level. Methods The micse were exposed to infrasound of 16 Hz with intensity of 90 dB and 130dB for 1,7,14,21 and 28 days.It is 2 h a day. Then immunohistochemical technique was employed to detect the changes of GFAP on the hippocampus of the micse. Results GFAP immunoreactive cells were increased in the hippocampus after exposed for certain times.14d group was to top. GFAP of 130 dB groups were more obvious than 90 dB groups (P 0.01 ). GFAP of 90 dB groups were more obvious than control group (P 0.01 ). Conclusion Changes of GFAP on the hippocampus of the mouse show certain rule after being exposed for certain intensity of infrasound. GFAP might participate in the repairment of brain injuries resulting from infrasound exposed.
