A Comparison Study on Visual Acuity and Corneal Astigmatism after Two Kinds of Small Incision of Cataract Surgery

Objective To study the clinical effects of two incisions(through above clear corneal tunnel incision and through temporal side clear corneal tunnel incision)in phacoemulsification and intraocular lens implantation.Methods Retrospective analysis on 42 cases(56 eyes)of phacoemulsification and intraocular lens implantation from October 2009 to October 2011 was done,which were divided into upper part clear corneal tunnel incision(group A)and temporal side clear corneal tunnel incision(group B).All of the patients were checked of visual acuity and corneal astigmatism before operation and 1 week,1 month,3 months and half a year after operation;uncorrected visual acuity and corneal astigmatism recovery situation of the two groups after operation were observed.Results Corneal astigmatism and uncorrected visual acuity of group B was better than group A,with statistically significant difference(P0.05).Conclusion Temporal side clear corneal tunnel incision is better than upper clear corneal tunnel incision in the curative effect.
