Abstract

A capillary GC method with headspace for determination of residual organic solvents—ethyl formate, tetrahydrofuran and methylcyclohexane in gemfibrozil was established. A HP-1 capillary column was used with N,N-dimethyl acetamide as the solvent and ethyl acetate as the internal standard. The average recoveries were 99.8%, 100.3% and 100.0%, with RSDs of 0.71%, 1.51% and 1.76%, respectively.
