TWO NEW SPECIES OF THE GENUS MIMOTETTIX FROM CHINA (HEMIPTERA, CICADELLIDAE, EUSCELINAE)

Two new species of the genus Mimotettix from China are described,M. albiguttatis sp. nov.,M. apicalis sp. nov. Type specimens are deposited in the Institute of Entomology,Guizhou University. Mimotettix albiguttatis sp. nov.(Figs.1-6)Body length (incl. tegm.):♂6.0mm,♀6.2-6.4mm.Crown broader than long,anteriorly roundly produced;ocelli on the lateral margin of crown,near eyes;face slightly convex, apex of clypellus distinctly broadened.Pronotum convex. Tegmina longer than abdomen,the veins prominent, apical cells four.Body pale-brown,anterior margin of crown with two black transverse lines,basal margin of face with a black transverse line, crown,pronotum and scutellum with a few white spots. This new species is similar to Mimotettix kawamurae Matsumura,but can be distinguished from the latter by relatively larger body; crown,pronotum and scutellm with a few white spots; stem of connective as long as arms.Holotype ♂, paratypes 4♀♀,Songxian,Baiyunsi(34°08′N,112°05′E),Henan Province,17-19 July 2002,coll.by CHEN Xiang-Sheng.Etymology.The new species name is from Latin alb-plus gutta,which means vertex,pronotum and scutellum with white spots.Mimotettix apicalis sp. nov. (Figs.7-12)Body length (incl. tegm.):♂5.5-5.7mm.General appearance as in Mimotettix albiguttatis.Body brown,anterior area of crown black,basal margin of face with a big pale-yellow speckle.This new species is related to Minotettix kawamurae Matsumura,but can be differentiated in 1) the body brown, 2) anterior area of crown black, 3) basal margin of face with a big pale-yellow speckle.Holotype ♂,Yuanbaoshan(25°30′N,109°50′E),Guangxi Autonomous Region. Paratype 1♂, Yingjiang (24°25′N,97°56′E), Yunnan Province, 15 May 2001, coll.by TIAN Ming-Yi.Etymology. The new species name is from Latin apical,which refers to anterior area of crown black.
