One hepatic stellate cells (HSCs) activation and translated into muscle fibroblasts is liver fibrosis occurrence, development of core link, all kinds of factors are the HSCs to fibrosis as final target cells, make it into muscle fibroblasts and lead to the occurrence of liver fibrosis. Liver fibrosis influence factor of forming the many, has not yet fully understood. Connective tissue growth factor (connective tissue growth factor, CTGF) is a kind of structural matrix proteins, can direct mediating hepatic stellate cells (HSCs), the activation of the synthesis and secretion the extracellular matrix (ECM), this factor research to explore the pathogenesis of liver fibrosis and new treatments injected new ideas, are in the CTGF liver fibrosis research progress were summarized in this review.
