Abstract

This paper analyses the concept of interlanguage and the causes of its fossilization.Interlanguage is a universal phe-nomenon in the course of SLA,and its fossilization is a distinguishing characteristic of second language acquisition.The research on the fossilization has received growing attention in recent years and it can help SL teachers to take effective measures to reduce and prevent the fossilization of interlanguage.
