Fossilization of interlanguage is a universal phenomenon in the process of transforming a native to the target language in SLA and also one of hot issues in theory research of SLA. The paper outlines the concepts and characteristics of interlanguage and fossilization and analyzes the causes of fossilization. Some measures on how to prevent the phenomenon are putforward.
