Abstract

Objective To investigate the significance of serum thyroid stimulating antibody(TRAb) level in the diagnosis and treatment of Graves' disease(GD).Methods Serum TRAb level of patients with GD was measured by electrochemiluminescence immunoassay(ECLIA) before and after treatment. Then the calculated receiver operating characteristic(ROC)curve was drew, the titer of serum TRAb was compared between before and after treatment of patients with GD,before and after relapse of patients with remission GD.Results The area under the ROC curve was 0.931,the cut-off value was 1.67 IU/L,the sensitivity and specificity were 94% and 85% at this cut-off value. The titer of TRAb was significantly higher in patients with GD before treatment than after treatment(P0.05),the titer of TRAb was significantly lower in patients with remission GD before relapse than after relapse(P0.05).Conclusion ECLIA method was rapid, sensitive and special to determine the serum TRAb level, which was important to diagnose, observe the curative effect and monitor the relapse of GD.
