Abstract
Metaphor is a kind of cultural carrier,reflecting the cultural features of language.Understanding the metaphor is a cognitive process by reasoning its connotation,rooted in the language,thought and culture.Based on the theory of the cognitive linguistics,the paper discussed the cognition and translation of metaphor and its three translation strategies,i.e.equivalence,conversion,alienation.
