Abstract

OBJECTIVE To Research the treatment of clinical efficacy and safety of asthenopia by massage and fumigation of traditional Chinese medicine. METHODS Two hundred and forty-three patients with asthenopia were randomly divided into two groups, 118 cases in the treatment group and 125 cases in the control group, and then carried on the curative effect observation respectively. The cases in treatment group were treated with massage and fumigation of traditional Chinese medicine, five times a week. The cases in control group were treated with Sodium Hyaluronate Eye Drops, and the treatment course was 2 weeks for both groups. Each patient was observed after each course of treatment. RESULTS The total effective rate of treatment group was 95.8%, the comparison group 81.6%,and there was significant difference between the two groups(P0.05). Symptom: before treatment, the treatment group was 18.23±3.88 and 18.86±3.47 in the control group, no significant difference(P0.05); after the treatment, the treatment group was 7.11±2.35 and 11.81±3.52 in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P0.05). The two groups before and after treatment the differences were statistically significant(P0.05).CONCLUSIONS The curative effect of massage and fumigation of traditional Chinese medicine was better than that of sodium hyaluronate eye drops. The symptioms of the asthenopia were improved obviously by massage with fumigation of traditional Chinese medicine and the treatment of asthenopia was safe and effective.
