Abstract
A solid superacid catalyst of SO2-4/ ZrO2-TiO2-Fe2O3 was prepared by precipitation impregnation method and was characterized by TG and XRD.The effects of catalyst synthesis and esterification reaction conditions on the yield of the isoamyl acetate were investigated. The results show that the activity of the SO2-4/ ZrO2-TiO2-Fe2O3 catalyst is the highest when the Zr /Ti/Fe atom molar ratio in the catalyst is 1.3∶2,The optimum reaction conditions are 10 mL catalyst of 1.0 g,alcohol to acid mole ratio of 1.3∶2,water carrying agent of 10 mL and reflux time of 3.0 h.Under these conditions, the yield of esterification is up to 98.5%.
