Abstract
The development of virtual simulation technology provides more and more support for research and test of lunar rover.Autonomous navigation is a key technology in lunar rover system, but rarely involved in virtual simulation system. This paper researched an autonomous navigation simulation module integrated in lunar rover virtual simulation system. An approach of using XML language to express the digitalized properties of lunar terrain is presented.Stereo navigation technology is investigated and the approach of realizing autonomous navigation in virtual simulation system is developed. These technologies have been applied to one prototype system for lunar rover simulation. The simulation results indicate that the system can provide efficient support for research on the autonomous navigation of lunar rover.
