Abstract
By using sulfamic acid as the catalyst, benzyl alcohol and propionic acid reacted to form benzyl propionate .The optimized conditions are as following :the mole ratio of propionic acid to benzyl alcohol is 1.2∶1.0,mass of catalyst is 0.3 g, benzyl alcohol is 0.1 mol, reaction temperature is 126~140 ℃ and reaction time is 75 min,the esterification yield is about 94.6%.
