Abstract
By using sodium hydrogen sulfate as the catalyst,benzyl alcohol and propionic acid reacted to form benzyl propionate.The optimized conditions are as following:the mole ratio of propionic acid to benzyl alcohol is 0.15:0.1,mass of catalyst is 1.0 g,reaction temperature is 97~110 ℃ and reaction time is 70 min.The esterification yield is about 97.3%.
