Abstract
Ethyl salicylate was synthesized with sodium bisulfate as catalyst in autoclave.Different factors such as mole ratio of reactants, temperature and reaction time were studied by mono-factor test. The optimum reaction conditions were attained as follows: the amount of catalyst was 4% of total mass of reactants, mole ratio of ethanol to salicylic acid was 5∶1,reaction time was 4h,reaction temperature was 140℃ and pressure was 171kPa.The yield of ethyl salicylate reached 85%.Qualitative analysis of product was carried by IR and purity was above 99% analyzed by GC.
A significance statement is not available in the OpenAlex record.
