Abstract
Ethyl salicylate was prepared using sodium hydrogen sulfate as the catalyst.Influences of(n(alcohol)∶)n(salicylic acid),catalyst dosage, reaction time and reaction temperature were investigated. The results showed that the sodium hydrogen sulfate exhibited higher catalytic activity.Esterification(efficiency) of 80.1%~88.2% was obtained under optimum condition as follows: catalyst dosage(2 g),(n(alcohol)∶)n(salicylic acid)=10∶1,reaction time 6 h,reaction temperature 75-85 ℃.
