Abstract
Objective To study blood glucose levels and clinical efficacy of periodontitis patients associated with type 2 diabetes after periodontal therapy. Methods 51 cases periodontitis patients with type 2 diabetes in Stomatological Hospital of Taian City were selected as research group,50 patients periodontitis patients without diabetes were select ed as control group.Periodontal treatment was adopted in all the patients, good diabetes treatment was adopted in the research group at the same time.It was observed comparative what include plaque bacteria index, attachment loss, sulcus bleeding index, probe depth in two groups, and glycated hemoglobin and fasting venous plasma glucose in the research group. Results The clinical periodontal indexes(PLI,PD,CAL,SBI) were improved obviously after periodon tal therapy(P 0.05),and compared with the comparison group, the differences was no statistically significant when the clinical periodontal indexes was tested in two groups(P 0.05).It wasn′ t improvment obviously what include HbA1c and FPG one week after treatment(P 0.05),and it was improvement obviously 8 week after treatment(P 0.05 or P 0.01),and it rebounded 12 week after treatment(P 0.05).Conclusion Periodontal therapy can be applicated widely in clinical and further study, when it apply to patients with periodontitis associated with type 2 diabetes on the basis of good diabetes treatment, because of its short-term curative effect and stable and improvement of blood blood glucose levels significant.
