Abstract
Objective To determine the correlation between IL-2 production and the development of T.spiralis in infected mice. Methods Mice were infected with T.spiralis.The content of IL-2 in peripheral blood was detected by ELISA method. The development and distribution of trichina were monitored through microscopic examination of the tissues removed from the infected mice. Results Within the first 5 weeks after inection, the content of IL-2 in infected mice was significantly increased. The numbers of larvae found in the muscle of midriff and in the masseter were higher than in the muscle linguae. Conclusion During T.spiralis infection, the number of larvae reached the maximum at 35 to 42 days after the infection.IL-2 may play a role in the immune response to infection by T.spiralis.
A significance statement is not available in the OpenAlex record.
