Abstract
Catalyzed by ferric chloride, tributyl citrate is synthesized by using citric acid and butanol in microwave irradiation. The effect of reaction conditions is also discussed. The optimal molar ration of citric acid and butanol is 16, and ferric chloride accounts for 3 %. The reaction system is exposed to the microwave radiation for about 5 min to reach the yield of 95.5 %.
