Abstract
Objective:To observe the therapeutic effect of acupuncture combined with herbal medicine on vertebral artery type of cervical spondylosis.Methods:Sixty-four patients were equally randomized into treatment group and control group. The two groups received intravenous dripping of Compound Danshen Injection and traction therapy, and the treatment group was treated with acupuncture additionally.Doppler ultrasonography was performed on patients of two groups before and after treatment. Results:The difference of the total effective rate between 2 groups was significant(P0.05).After treatment, the blood flow rate of vertebral artery(VA) and basilar artery(BA) in both groups was significantly faster than that before treatment(P0.05 or P0.01).After treatment, blood flow rate of VA in the treatment group differed from that in the control group, the difference was significant(P0.05).Conclusion:Acupuncture combined with herbal medicine is effective for treatment of vertebral artery type of cervical spondylosis by significantly increasing the blood flow role of the vertebral artery.
