Abstract
Objective To evaluate the diagnostic value of 40-slice spiral computed tomography(40-SCT) for coronary artery stenosis by compared with selective X-ray coronary angiography(SCA) in screening of coronary artery disease of el-derly patients. Methods A total of 40 elderly patients with suspected coronary artery disease were detected by MSCT.By using the echniques of retrospective ECG-gating,maximum intensity projection, volume rendering technique, curved planar reconstruction and multiple planar reconstruction, the coronary artery segments and their branches were reconstructed. The blood vessels with caliber1.5mm were counted. The sensitivity, specificity, positive.predictive value, negative predictive value and accuracy of 40-SCT for examination were analysized as compared with SCA.Result The total 388 coronary artery segments were evaluated 364,which accountde for 93.8%.The diagnosis sensitivity of coronary artery stenosis with 40-slice spiral CT was 91.0%,specificity was 85.6%,positive predictive value was 82.6%,negative predictive value was 92.7%,and accuracy was 87.9%.Conclusion The 40-SCT for coronary angiography can get high quality images for the diagnosis of coronary artery srenosis. It is a noninvasive, reliable and effective method for diagnosing artery disease, and alsocan be used in the screening of coronary artery stenoses for elderly people.
