Abstract
Objective To find the quantitative indexes for the malignant grade and prognosis of astrocytoma. Methods Immunoshistochemistry staining was used to detect microvascular density(MVD) and Ki 67 labelling index(Ki 67LI) in 48 cases of astrocytoma tissue. Results In low grade astrocytoma,MVD and Ki 67LI were 8.89±5.80 and 6.69±4.81 respectively;while in high grade astrocytoma, they were 17.49±13.13 and 23.62±6.78 respectively. The difference was significant( P 0.05).There was also significant difference of two indexes in different prognosis. Conclusion The two indexes,MVD and Ki 67LI,are useful in judging the malignant grade and prognosis of astrocytoma. They are also complementary each other.
